There are many reasons a man may wish to impress his girlfriend – it may be early on in the relationship, with a good first impression still being formed. Or, it may be that she has a birthday coming up, that she is upset about something, or that you are about to pop the big question and want to know she has nothing but good feelings for you.

One way to impress her, of course, is through relentless self-improvement. You could join a gym, do some charity work or begin an evening class in astro-physics. These things, however, take time and effort, and most of us require much quicker results when we are looking to impress the one we love. This leaves us with one option and one option only – buying her a present.

Presents!

Every woman, no matter what she says, loves to receive presents. Let’s face it, men do too. Being given a present is a universally nice thing, especially from a person you love. They say it’s the thought that counts, and it really is, but remember: if all you can think of is a totally unsuitable present then what does that say?

Flowers and/or Chocolates!

Chocolates and flowers may be appreciated, but they are also a bit of a cliché. Nine times out of ten, giving your girlfriend flowers or chocolates is a bit like telling her you were thinking of her, but not very much. She crossed your mind for a fleeting moment; long enough to pop into the nearest newsagents and shell out a little cash, then you went to the bar and promptly forgot all about her again. Trust me: she’s thinking all that and more!

Personal Ideas!

If you want to really impress your girlfriend, you need to give her a gift that is personal to her. Think back on conversations you have had in the past – I bet she has dropped a subtle hint somewhere along the line.

Sexy Underwear!

Another way to impress a lady is by being able to buy her underwear in her size. Be careful – you must remember to buy her something she will like, not just something you want to see her in. Peephole bras are never a good gift, unless you are trying to goad her into making you single once more. Nightwear is often a good compromise – it tells her you think she is sexy, but leaves less room for mistakes in style.

Slinky slips in silk and satin are ideal. Make sure you know her size, and the colours and styles she prefers, and pop down to your nearest lingerie shop. The staff will be so impressed at your thoughtfulness that they will go out of their way to help you, guiding you towards the most popular items purchased by females and not letting you wander into the danger zone that is inappropriate underwear!
